  Marrying Young

  something has been bothering me as of late.

  my younger brother, who is 17 years old plans on getting married right after he turns 18 this upcoming year.

  i have quite a few problems with this, but he thinks that he knows it all at his age.. i'm concerned for several reasons.

  I was 16 when a horny MS picked me to be his bride. My reputation wasn't spotless so I know he wanted me for a bride mainly for the sexual attraction. He hung around all the time and I didn't have the skills to get rid of him at first. Everyone thought it was so wonderful, where is your ring they'd ask.

  So anyway I did chase him away eventually. I'm in college and he has an 18 year old bride without a clue and he is a nightime janitor so he can pioneer. Of course he's on the hotlist to be an elder.

  Slim pickings for the sisters so of course they usually go for younger guys. Bad plan, she won't respect him.

  i had posted this on another thread but it was a little off topic so someone ask me to start a new thread and get the discussion going on this topic.

  i do not mean to offend you ladies out there and i really am not sexist as i really love all of you.

  i have had it told to me by people of your sex, they don't understand us guys.

  Not always, that's why you can't pigeon hole women. Sometimes we just want a hot looking partner. Sometimes we just want sex. Then again sometimes we want some affection outside of an erect penis. Sometimes we want to be stimulated intellectually. Sometimes we don't know what the hell we want. Why should you be able to figure it out?

  Well so far with my experience if you treat them that way, all they do in return is lead you on, treat you like crap, play mind games and when someone else better comes along they dump you!!!

  Yep, that never happens to women. Be yourself. If you treat everyone nice eventually you'll find someone that appreciates you. If you meet a girl that just want to enjoy herself and get all serious over her then you are setting yourself up for a fall.

  Well I don't know now. If the sister or brother were cute enough and willing to do a bible study in a hottub then I just don't see a problem.

  Identifying with a religious group - what does it mean to you?

  directed to those who since leaving the dubs have attached themselves (strongly or loosely) to another religious or spiritual group: how would you describe the group, your relationship to it, and why it appeals to you?

  if you want to mention the group's name, that's okay, but one thing i have noticed is that there is a vast difference in implications and ramifications between saying "i am one of jehovah's witnesses" and saying "i am a _____" - almost anything else.

  exactly what identifying with the group means is at least as diverse as the groups themselves, or perhaps as diverse as the individuals who so identify.. i am personally acquainted with ex-jws who "are" roman catholic, protestant, what i call in a rather generic sense "orthodox christian," unitarian-universalist, buddhist, hindu, and a perhaps surprising (seemingly disproportionate?

  I was forced to be a dub and couldn't wait to leave. Like most kids who are anxious to get a drivers license or to be 21 I looked forward to the day I left. So I don't fit your criteria either. I am not going to join anything else again. They all look pretty good from the outside but I don't want to see what they are like on the inside.

  Women cause intestinal bowel problems in men, and shorten their life.

  i have found that women do cause men to die early, even if they don't want to they do.

  they must gods way making gods of us men in due time.

  i love women but i don't like what they can do to a good man namely drive him crazy.

  Just what constitutes a "good seat" at an assembly?

  just what constitutes a "good seat" at an assembly?

  As a YOUNG loyal JW, did you think you would see you're 60th birthday ?

  with all the talk in the organization about the end being so close, and we have all heard this story over and over again for years, as a young/loyal jw, did you think you would see your 60th birthday.. if we were to walk into the kingdom hall today and poll all the jw's under 30, and ask them "will you see your 60th birthday", what kind of response would you get ???.

  armageddon is not coming, the year 2014 will pass, as will 2025, 2075, 2100, and even 3000. .

  would love to hear experiences from some of the older ones on this board, who probaly thought the same thing when they were young.
